The forest wedding of Laura and Max was, for me, something very special this year. Not only because the two are very kind and interesting people, but also because it was for me my first wedding in the middle of the forest. The Getting Ready took place in the beautiful natural resort Schindelbruch in southern Harz. The hotel is a health resort and one of the Top 20 wellness hotels in Germany. It is definitely worth a visit! About 15 minutes away, the outdoor wedding ceremony took place with a hand fasting ritual. Hand fasting is a pagan wedding ceremony ritual, also known as a pagan marriage ceremony, witch or wica wedding. It is an ancient marriage custom where the “hands are tied together” (hence the name “hand fasting”), which usually happens with a ribbon, cord or cloth. Two speeches followed, made by Laura and Max and recited to the guests of their wedding. It was here that I noticed that the two have a very special connection to each other. After the wedding ceremony we drove to the couple photo shooting in a nearby wood.
I love the Harz because of the wonderfulness of nature. It is always impressive what nature can have for a calming effect on you. The wedding was furnished and decorated by Anja Ulrich and her team from the wedding agency, Perfect Day. I’m very happy to have been with the wedding photographer
